The latest version of Hylafax (4.1.3), has a number of directories missing. Here they are: /var/spool/fax/archive /var/spool/fax/client /var/spool/fax/pollq /var/spool/fax/recvq /var/spool/fax/tmp I am unsure if this is a bug with the ebuild or a bug with Hylafax itself (this is unlikely methinks). By creating these directories, with the proper owner (by default HylaFax runs as uucp) things work fine.
I have updated hylafax-4.1.3.ebuild to manually install the directories you mention and then chown -R uucp:uucp /var/spool/fax Please let me know if that fixes the install process for you. The ebuild should be available in portage within 24 hours. emerge rsync emerge hylafax
