http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31721 Just found a bug which points to the exactly same problem. Mythtv (or libdvb) shouldn't depend on linuxtv-dvb if kernel 2.6 is installed. Just had this same issue. In my case, according to 'emerge -pt', vlc-0.8.0 depends on libdvb which depends on linuxtv-dvb. vlc-0.8.1 is ok. The latter shouldn't be pulled in anywhere on a 2.6 kernel system. I don't know about libdvb. Removing "dvb" from the USE flags as suggested elsewhere would no doubt work around the problem, but is not a solution. Permitting vlc-0.8.1 (i.e. setting "=media-video/vlc-0.8.1 ~x86" in /etc/portage/package.keywords) fixed it for me. Apparently, this bug isn't going to be fixed any time soon -- it's still unresolved after three months. Is there a common procedure to draw attention to a bug? |
