UTF-8 patches from http://www.suse.de/~nadvornik/mc.html refined to be compatible with gentoo ebuilds. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

Ebuild with UTF-8 support included
Unicode support is turned on with USE="unicode" as in slang-1.4.9-r1.ebuild
wich is needed by utf-capable mc.

Created an attachment (id=39673) [details] VFS caddr_t patch Largefile.patch also from http://www.suse.de/~nadvornik/mc.html Without it I can't build mc on my machine. Suprisingly, default gentoo ebuilds emerge without it... But my ebuild does not.
thx for making those patches compatible with gentoo, added them to mc-4.6.0-r10
