I've done a test emerge and compile of dev-db/firebird-1.5.1 on sparc. It
compiles cleanly, starts, and passes a few really basic tests (it can create
databases, tables, and run simple queries).

firebird-docs is, well, just documentation. It can probably be safely used on
every platform. :-)
