It would be great if one could specify a mirror type (ftp or http) when running mirrorselect. Some firewall setups don't allow ftp, or, in my case, ftp traffic is routed over a seperate, high volume line, so I don't want to use http mirrors. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

I have taken over maintainership of mirrorselect.
I like this idea. I will work on implementing it after the new version of mirrorselect goes stable. Thanks for the input!
