The ebuild already say:
# note: update these regularly from http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids
#       and upload to gentoo mirrors - <liquidx@gentoo.org>

Though the snapshot in there is almost a year old and much new hardware isn't recognized.

finalyl updated. had to go through and correct some errors in the provided
usb.ids. however, it might be that we need to upgrade usbutils to a new
version.

FYI -- There is a January 06 update available for usb.ids.  Didn't want to open
another bug as I'm not sure how many times a year you think updating this is
enough. :)
