Testing the release right now.  It doesn't look like there will be changes to USE flags, and I have confirmed the FFmpeg 3.0 line is still not compatible (as expected).

vlc-2.2.3.patch

Patch against vlc-2.2.2; main changes are some stronger controls to restrict FFmpeg to versions under 3.0.  Tested with FFmpeg 2.8.6 & 2.8.7; fails to build with FFmpeg 3.x.
