Troubled by the fact that xfce4-sensors-plugin is dependent on
nvidia-settings i tried to get rid of the dependency and still have the desired functionality in xfce4-sensors-plugin.
Reason for this is problem installing newer nvidia-drivers when nvidia-settings is installed and because of the plans to remove nvidia-settings from portage.

I did the following:

1. uninstalled nvidia-settings
2. compiled nvidia-drivers with "tools" and "static-libs" useflag
3. modified the ebuild for xfce4-sensors-plugin to be dependent on
nvidia-drivers instead of nvidia-settings.
4. recompiled xfce4-sensors-plugin
Result: xfce4-sensors-plugin can show gpu temperatures as expected.

I have solved the problem but i believe others will be happy if someone can drop
the nvidia-settings dependency in the official build.
A step closer to the final goal of removing nvidia-settings from portage.
