I've tried to reproduce this on timberdoodle using the same icedtea-bin but it works fine. Maybe config.log has more? I am in the process of bumping icedtea-web anyway but I suspect it won't help whatever this is. I tried forcibly removing the sun.awt.X11.XEmbeddedFrame class from rt.jar and the result came back "no" as you would expect but I didn't get that "Aborted" message. It doesn't even get as far as running java because javac fails first. Yours is crashing hard but I can't think why, it's not like it even tries to use the class mentioned. For what it's worth, please retest with 1.6.1. icedtea-bin-7.2.6.4 is now in the tree so I would appreciate it if you could retest. I suspect the upstream release has done nothing to address this issue but this build now includes an additional fix from CACAO. I still have one CACAO bug pending a fix though. 1.5.1 is gone as 1.6.1 is stable, plus we have Java 8 with HotSpot on ppc64 now. Pretty sure this is fixed. |
