Arch teams, please proceed. Oops, sorry. To Java team, maintainers of dev-util/idea-ultimate: I don't know how do you, guys, use IDEA, but I'm tired of masking every single damn "*_pre" version. Either remove the keywords from non-EAP (_pre) versions or introduce slotting. Oh, right, slotting gives another problem (#561210). Any other solutions? I'm really not interested in this package but do we really need all these pre versions? Let's either remove or package.mask them. > remove the keywords from non-EAP (_pre) versions

I've got another idea: there are packages like www-client/google-chrome-beta, www-client/opera-beta, www-client/opera-developer. Same could be done to IDEA.
I see several possible solutions:
1) Mark release versions as stable and mark _pre versions as unstable;
2) Set KEYWORDS="" for _pre versions;
3) package.mask them;
4) Separate them into discrete package (e.g. dev-util/idea-ultimate-eap);
5) Simply remove them.
