I'm requesting a version bump for the net-misc/vnc which uses Realvnc 3.3.7. I
would like a version bump to Realvnc 4.0 which was released mid-June.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
I heartily second this request.
I too would like to see RealVNC 4.0.
Here is an ebuild for a Binary version of RealVNC 4.0 derived from the 3.3.7
source ebuild.
I had the source one working except for the xfree vnc.so module. Since they no
longer include x sources in their source packages, it just started getting too
complex for the time I had available.
Anyway, this filled my needs, and since xf4vnc is binary only as well, it
couldn't be worse then that.

Ebuilds for RealVNC 4.0 Binaries
Sorry - Posted the attachment to the wrong bug, then thought my comment didn't
get posted, so I double posted it.. Nice simple bug and ebuild post buggered
up.

Updated ebuild - vnc.so wasn't being copied over
Missed an entry in the dodir portion of the install section that prevented the
vnc.so from being installed.
New ebuild -r1 version.
The 4.0 ebuilds should be marked as stable.
I have been using 4.0 server every weekday for nearly six months and have never had any problems with it. This is mostly with the windows viewer but I have also used the gentoo 4.0 viewer as well. Also without problems.
