18.1 is the latest released version. If you have a good cvs snapshot, please tarball it for me and list any differences between building 18 and 19. no response from submitter. Created attachment 44023 [details]
ebuild for portaudio v19 CVS
this should be slotted as v.19 is pretty much a rewrite AFAIK. I had lots of trouble with v.19 and jackd, and breakage of other apps in portage that depend on portaudio is likely. Created attachment 64874 [details]

There were some 'darwin only' gcc options in the Makefile...configure should have figured this one out...
you need to do an epatch after the emake.
