Adding using the patch and adding:

To the ebuild allowed me to successfully compile kdevplatform 1.7.0 with boost 1.57 and Qt 4.8.6

Hitting this with 1.7.1 as well The patch looks good to me, could it be added to portage please ? It's been there and tested/validated by several people, for months. This bug hit me too.
