should be all set now in the tree; thanks for the report! Commit message: Disable IPv6 lines in default restrict.conf when USE=-ipv6 http://sources.gentoo.org/net-misc/ntp/ntp-4.2.8_p2.ebuild?rev=1.1 As I understand, the fix is not related to the report actually. Toralf Förster found that ntpd complains against line 47 (restrict [::1]) of default ntp.conf: --- ntpd[10775]: restrict: ignoring line 47, address/host '[::1]' unusable. --- It is not related to IPv6 support in system, but to ntp.conf syntax. For example, I have IPv6 support in kernel and ipv6 use flag is set, but I receive the warning message to. Following change solves the issue for me: ------ # diff -u /etc/ntp.conf.orig /etc/ntp.conf --- /etc/ntp.conf.orig 2017-12-18 22:55:30.295216541 +0500 +++ /etc/ntp.conf 2017-12-18 22:31:50.232675066 +0500 @@ -43,7 +43,7 @@ # - Allow all local queries (IPv4, IPv6) restrict default nomodify nopeer noquery limited kod restrict 127.0.0.1 -restrict [::1] +restrict -6 ::1 # To allow machines within your network to synchronize ------- |
