amd64 stable Defenetly unstable, breaks cryptsetup and lvm and also zfs installations on ~amd64 (In reply to Christoph Löhr from comment #2) Where are the bug reports? I do not use any of these features. (In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #3) > (In reply to Christoph Löhr from comment #2) > > Where are the bug reports? I do not use any of these features. in the making, first 12 Systems need a downgrade. Grub will not find any devices, if they're not plain disk devices. This may be bug 522428. Please hold on stabilization for x86 until this is resolved. Ok, I think we are ready to resume here. New target is sys-boot/grub-2.02_beta2-r2. This should be stabilized ASAP on amd64. grub2.02_beta2 does not even build. see attached logfiles.
...and just tried sys-boot/grub-2.02_beta2-r2, it fails to build with the same symptoms. (sys-boot/grub-2.00_p5107-r2:2 builds and works just fine on this server.) (In reply to ahudson.news from comment #7) File a new bug. If it is a real problem, I will have it block this bug. (In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #11) > File a new bug. If it is a real problem, I will have it block this bug. done. https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=522956 + 24 Sep 2014; Mike Gilbert <floppym@gentoo.org> grub-2.02_beta2-r2.ebuild: + Stable on amd64, bug 522314. With grub-2.02_beta2 and also with grub-2.02_beta2-r2 updating grub on my efi-partition does not work: I use "grub2-install --target=x86_64-efi --boot-directory=/boot/efi/efi --bootloader-id=GRUB --recheck" to update (or install a new) grub on my Efi-Partition (sda1 with Fat). Up to version 2.00_p5107-r2 everything works well. But grub-2.02_beta2 and also grub-2.02_beta2-r2 says me that they found no EFI-partition. If I reemerge than the old 2.00_p5107-r2 it works again. The efi-partiton is mountet into /boot/efi and the grub is installed into the "Efi-Folder" of the "Efi-Partition" Best regards (In reply to Gerold Schellstede from comment #14) File a new bug. Leaving a comment on this bug after is pointless.
