Same issue with kde 4.14.3 and acpid 2.0.23 this may narrow it down: pidof kded4, used in few places in the script yields nothing, even when kded4 IS running. Created attachment 394364 [details, diff]
acpid-2.0.23 /etc/acpi/actions/powerbtn.sh patch
I patched my "powerbtn.sh" to replace "pidof kded4" with "pgrep -n kded4" since I noticed that pidof does not return anything even with kded4 in execution
I also noticed that "pinky -fw" returns "?:0" as my TTY instead of ":0" so I changed the "getXuser()" function accordingly
