Which version of media-video/ffmpeg? I have it here with 1.2.5, $ qfile -v -b libpostproc.so.52 media-video/ffmpeg-1.2.5 (/usr/lib64/libpostproc.so.52) Ah, I'm not using ffmpeg, but rather media-video/libav-9.10. Thank you for filing this bug, Kris. Yes, users of libav need libpostproc; the summary is correct, it thus would need the dependencies to change to || ( media-video/ffmpeg media-libs/libpostproc ) or with its order swapped as appropriate, listed apart from the existing virtual. > Then one would go straight away for emerge libav but there is one more caveat. > Libav has split libpostproc library while ffmpeg still is using the internal > one. Code wise they are most probably equal but you have to take account for > it so just call emerge with both libraries. `emerge -1v libav libpostproc` > > http://blogs.gentoo.org/scarabeus/2013/01/15/libav-going-to-be-default-provider-for-your-codec-experience/ || ( media-video/ffmpeg media-libs/libpostproc ) dep added This problem resurfaced in =media-video/mplayer-1.1.1-r1. I can see this affecting anything that expects virtual/ffmpeg to pull-in libpostproc. Should I file a bug for only mplayer, or should there be a larger effort to identify all affected packages? As an aside, I'm reverting to media-video/ffmpeg as libav doesn't fit my needs anyway. I'm unlikely to find any more packages myself. |
