Does it work if you manually: modprobe eepro100 ? It looks like hardware detection isn't as good as it used to be. We're looking into this. roger55 > Does it work if you manually: modprobe eepro100 ?
I just tryed this with no luck. I am using e100 because eepro100 doesn't work. I am using DHCP and when I used eepro100 it grabs a bad IP address and fails to work.
Let me know if you would like me to try something else.
After some more testing I found that I CAN use eepro100 (and am right now) but I still can't get on the net with the liveCD. Below is a portion of the ifconfig output from the liveCD after I add eepro100 and restart net.eth0: eth0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-02-3C-00-21-06-F9-2A-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 inet addr:192.168.0.2 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Here is what I have working: eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0C:F1:94:7A:5B inet addr:192.168.0.4 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::20c:f1ff:fe94:7a5b/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:216 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:202 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:113448 (110.7 Kb) TX bytes:25351 (24.7 Kb) Interrupt:20 Base address:0xddc0 Everything looks right except for the first line. I can see why I can't get to the internet now, it is not being identify it as ethernet and no MAC address. I hope this is of some help. |
