Additional Information: Reproduced this same issue using an ASUS A7N266-VM motherboard. This does NOT use the VIA chipset, but is another "onboard" NIC. This motherboard uses the nVidia NFORCE chipset. The problem is not chipset specific. Support for certain NICs seems to have been withdrawn from the 2004.1 image that were present in the 2004.0 image. -jjc The forcedeth.o and via-rhine.o network modules are available. Manually modprobe'ing the NIC will turn it on. Still unsure why it's no longer autodetecting. --jjc |
