The desktop icon (using Gnome) shows up as blank due to the icon cache not being updated once the icons are installed. 2. The ebuild doesn't register x-scheme-handler/spotify mimetype for xdg-open so won't launch from a browser for example. Attached patch to spotify-0.9.0.133.ebuild that updates icon-cache and registers mimetype...
