I recently ran into this issue. too. As a workaround, installing dev-libs/libusb:0 (thus unmerging dev-libs/libusb-compat) and then lcd4linux did the trick for me. If I deinstall libusbx, libusb-compat and virtual/libusb, the next 'emerge -pvuDN world' wants to reinstall them. How can I managed that emerge -pvuDN world' installs dev-libs/libusb-0.1.12-r7 and dev-libs/libusb-1.0.9 instead of libusbx, libusb-compat? I also encounter this problem. deinstalling libusb-compat will not work. it is reinstalled after rebuilding lcd4linux with use flag lcd_devices_lcd2usb emerge --info lcd4linux Portage 2.1.12.2 The fix is to remove all invocations of usb_debug, this worked for me. removing lcd4linux from portage would be a pity. I could provide a patch for that ... then the logging would be gone? well, if it really takes that to get this fixed, please do provide such patch no other distro has patch for this ready? need to check all them. maybe it's even in some mailing list etc. (In reply to Samuli Suominen from comment #7) > then the logging would be gone? well, if it really takes that to get this > fixed, please do provide such patch > no other distro has patch for this ready? need to check all them. maybe it's > even in some mailing list etc. usb_debug was bound to 0 in the code anyhow. (driver BWCT,LCD2USB,picLCD,Trefon,USBLCD) I assume 0 means no logging at all. So we're not loosing any info ;-) (In reply to Gerhard Hintermayer from comment #6) > (In reply to Samuli Suominen from comment #5) > > The package is broken with libusb-compat, and still needs the old > > libusb-0.1.12. > > CCing treecleaners for package removal because there is no maintainer, and > > no fix in sight. > > The fix is to remove all invocations of usb_debug, this worked for me. > removing lcd4linux from portage would be a pity. fix compliation errors regarding discontinued usb_debug flag in latest usblib
sorry for the delay. here you are. hope I got the diff right ;-)
just removed all occurences of usb_debug from all drivers (I'm just using USB2LCD, and driver works with no problems after usb_debug removal, assume the same behaviour for all the other drivers)
