Thanks. As a stopgap, now DEPEND on <texinfo-5.0. The upstream informed. *** Bug 465862 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Upstream report http://sourceforge.net/p/maxima/bugs/2551/ has a user-contributed patch but the comments indicate that things already have been fixed in upstream git, namely by http://sourceforge.net/p/maxima/code/ci/f9965095d6c5804634780b5066f408ae966f6a6b/ and some commits leading up to that. One could extract a patch from that, but since there were other branches merged into that before the relevant modifications took place, and since apparently not all affected files are actually included in the 5.30.0 tarball, it seems easiest to use that user-contributed patch instead. On my system, that was enough to get maxima installed, although there were some warnings by texinfo. How to apply this as a user, before things enter portage: # ebuild /usr/portage/sci-mathematics/maxima/maxima-5.30.0.ebuild clean prepare # wget -O- http://sourceforge.net/p/maxima/bugs/_discuss/thread/6afd51b1/04f0/attachment/maxima_bug_2551.patch | patch -p1 -d /var/tmp/portage/sci-mathematics/maxima-5.30.0/work/maxima-5.30.0/doc/info # ebuild /usr/portage/sci-mathematics/maxima/maxima-5.30.0.ebuild merge Fixed in maxima-5.31.2. |
