Will check now how it builds with other libav and ffmpeg versions. Most likely virtual/ffmpeg dep will be raised and this version will be masked until new libav/ffmpeg are unmasked. Done. It builds and works fine with libav-9.4, it fails to build with libav-0.8.5, ffmpeg-1.0.6, ffmpeg-1.1.4, ffmpeg-1.2. For now i suggest changing virtual/ffmpeg dep to >=media-video/libav-9.4 and masking this version. 2.17.3_pre743 builds with masked libav version fine, but does not work well: it is not possible to import any sound track in aegisub. There is upstream bug https://code.google.com/p/ffmpegsource/issues/detail?id=101 , let keep this bug open until upstream bug is fixed. + 02 Apr 2013; Sergey Popov <pinkbyte@gentoo.org> package.mask: + Mask =media-libs/ffmpegsource-2.17.4_pre753 due to bug #464078 But it does build with media-video/ffmpeg[avresample] Then we need to update virtual, libav or ffmpeg ebuilds: now ffmpeg ebuilds have USE avresample, but libav do not. libav always provides avresample. aballier, what do you think about removing USE avresample from ffmpeg? (In reply to comment #10) > aballier, what do you think about removing USE avresample from ffmpeg? Why not do something like this in virtual/ffmpeg IUSE="X avresample +encode gsm jpeg2k mp3 sdl speex theora threads truetype vaapi vdpau x264" RDEPEND=" || ( >=media-video/libav-9[X?,encode?,gsm?,jpeg2k?,mp3?,sdl?,speex?,theora?,threads?,truetype?,vaapi?,vdpau?,x264?] >=media-video/ffmpeg-1.1[X?,avresample?,encode?,gsm?,jpeg2k?,mp3?,sdl?,speex?,theora?,threads?,truetype?,vaapi?,vdpau?,x264?] ) " (In reply to comment #10) > aballier, what do you think about removing USE avresample from ffmpeg? If that's for one single package, I prefer having it optional; if most packages start to require avresample then I'm fine with hard enabling it. So far, I think the solution from comment #11 is the way to go. btw, avresample is from libav but is only available since libav-9 (In reply to comment #11) > (In reply to comment #10) > > aballier, what do you think about removing USE avresample from ffmpeg? > > Why not do something like this in virtual/ffmpeg > IUSE="X avresample +encode gsm jpeg2k mp3 sdl speex theora threads truetype > vaapi vdpau x264" I'd go for +avresample btw, I'll update ffmpeg ebuilds to have this too. Now mplayer2 and mpv by default use and link to libavresample. The lib is small (118K) and does not require any deps. Do not know why anyone would want to disable it. (In reply to comment #14) > Now mplayer2 and mpv by default use and link to libavresample. The lib is > small (118K) and does not require any deps. Do not know why anyone would > want to disable it. that's why I'm suggesting to go for +avresample, its just a matter to write proper deps after that. thinking more about it, I think you're right: enabling or disabling avresample, strictly speaking, changes the abi of the package; nothing that is not caught by revdep-rebuild/preserve-libs, but still not that nice IMHO, I'll always enable it. Please change >=virtual/ffmpeg-0.9 to >=virtual/ffmpeg-9 in ffmpegsource-2.17.4_pre753.ebuild and ffmpegsource-9999.ebuild. (In reply to comment #17) > Please change >=virtual/ffmpeg-0.9 to >=virtual/ffmpeg-9 in > ffmpegsource-2.17.4_pre753.ebuild and ffmpegsource-9999.ebuild. Done. Close bug if you want. Sorry for the delay in answering and thanks for masking the offending patch. |
