Did your build it with USE="pdf"? Please attach build.log Heh! Somehow I managed to miss that that flag was added. Strange that I didn't see it... Although at first glance I question whether we ought to have a "pdf" USE flag for a package named "qpdfview"... Sure enough, that fixed it. Closing the bug, thanks! Upstream added support for various formats(for example djvu) as plugins, pdf was splitted in such plugin too.
