Hi, which locale are you using? I just tried de_DE.UTF-8 via $ LC_ALL=de_DE.UTF-8 wicd-curses and it works fine. (In reply to comment #1) > Hi, which locale are you using? In this case we should probably just aim for stabilization. I can confirm this with wicd-1.7.2.1 gentbox ~ # LC_ALL=cs_CZ.UTF-8 wicd-curses Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/wicd/curses/wicd-curses.py", line 926, in call_update_ui self.update_ui(True) File "/usr/share/wicd/curses/wicd-curses.py", line 93, in wrapper return func(*args, **kargs) File "/usr/share/wicd/curses/wicd-curses.py", line 937, in update_ui self.handle_keys(input_data[1]) File "/usr/share/wicd/curses/wicd-curses.py", line 840, in handle_keys self.diag = WirelessSettingsDialog(pos, self.frame) File "/usr/share/wicd/curses/netentry_curses.py", line 389, in __init__ title = _('Configuring preferences for wireless network "$A" ($B)').replace('$A',wireless.GetWirelessProperty(networkID,'essid')).replace('$B',wireless.GetWirelessProperty(networkID,'bssid')) UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 8: ordinal not in range(128) The error is nearly identical. The wicd daemon continues to work (IIRC wicd-curses communicates with it via D-BUS) Happens under any user account, including root. This is in rxvt-unicode, so UTF-8 should not be a problem. I emerged wicd-1.7.2.4-r1 with USE="X ncurses nls pm-utils -ambiance -gtk (-ioctl) -libnotify -mac4lin" And the bug is gone. Yay! So, should I open a stabilization bug or would someone rather take care of this? (Thomas?) (In reply to comment #3) > So, should I open a stabilization bug or would someone rather take care of > this? (Thomas?) Let's hijack this bug. Arches (amd64,x86), please test and stable. amd64 stable x86 stable. Closing. |
