As I said above this linking error happens while setting up the prefix. The interesting line in the configuration part is: .. What libraries to use? [none] .. which should be .. What libraries to use? [-lnsl -lgdbm -ldb -ldl -lm -lcrypt -lutil -lc -lgdbm_compat] .. as is the case later in the prefix setup when I can upgrade perl after the `emerge -e system` step is run. I have no clue which package is missing, but I suggest to update the prefix setup page [1] accordingly (e.g. install an older version of perl). [1] http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/gentoo-alt/prefix/bootstrap-solaris.xml not going to bother the Perl team with this You're on a Gentoo Linux host, right? Yes! Looks similar to bug 425538, please retest? ehm, yes, could very well be I tried 5.16.1 and it still fails to link. (In reply to comment #8) > I tried 5.16.1 and it still fails to link. When? It was only fixed in the past day I have this problem on Solaris 10 Sparc now :( ok, the fix for bug #425538 broke solaris * searching libdirs for EM_SPARC32PLUS /lib/64/libMPAPI.so EM_SPARCV9 /usr/lib/64/lib300.so EM_SPARCV9 /lib/libMPAPI.so EM_SPARC /usr/lib/_int.so EM_SPARC fixing... I checked in another try, I hope that solves this one too. Right now I tried again with a fresh prefix and it still does not link :-/ . Btw, the new bootstrapping script is simply awesome! Thank your for this! I still need to commit the fix I made for sparcv9 ok, committed, it wasn't really able to deal with symlinks. Since it outputs what it looks for and finds now, it's easy to quickly determine if it's going to succeed or not. Works for me now. Thanks a lot! |
