I have just contacted maintainer to know if he is still taking care of this and fixing: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436906 So? Well situation is a bit more...complicated. dev-util/checkbashisms is old abandoned script from sourceforge. Current upstream is debian[1,2]. rpmdevtools developers periodically copy checkbashisms & few other scripts from debian. Ideal solution IMO: packaging dev-utils/debian-devscripts (with A LOT of USE flags), getting rid of old checkbashisms and then rpmdevtools can just add proper use-depends on new debian-devscripts. More realistic shorter-term solution: rpmdevtools will not install checkbashisms but just pull in old dev-utils/checkbashisms through depends. I'll make this version today, but I am not too fond of it...
