The ebuild ChangeLogs often have very limited info such as "version update".

I think its very useful to be able to read the source ChangeLog right in the
ebuild files. Any reason why this isn't done?

The ChangeLogs from the packages themselves are gzipped in
/usr/share/doc/package-name-version/
