fwbuilder-autogen-sh.patch
Hi, the fix sounds nice but the PRI64 problem is still exists. http://paste.pocoo.org/show/540590/ regards j0inty CC'ing toolchain. The bug is caused not by an automake upgrade, but by this commit: http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/eclass/autotools.eclass?r1=1.116&r2=1.117 Which was added to fix Bug #397697. Not being an autotools guy, I am not certain if this fix wasn't 100%, or if fwbuilder's build system is broken in a subtle way and this change exposes another upstream bug. Those who really need fwbuilder, a temporary fix is to revert BOTH rev 1.117 and 1.116 on /usr/portage/eclass/autotools.eclass, then re-run fwbuilder until further advice is provided from toolchain on a more appropriate fix. (In reply to comment #12) > Hi, > > the fix sounds nice but the PRI64 problem is still exists. > > http://paste.pocoo.org/show/540590/ > > regards > j0inty This issue is being tracked in a separate bug and is waiting on comment from upstream to resolve (or a new version). Please confine inquiries about that issue to its respective bug. Thanks. would have to update eautomake() to use autotools_check_macro rather than grep-ing the configure.in file directly ... This change likely broke also games-sports/torcs since it has: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(torcs, 1.3.1) in configure.in but it has no Makefile.am files at all: * Running automake --add-missing --copy --foreign ... [ !! ] ***** automake ***** ***** PWD: /var/tmp/portage/games-sports/torcs-1.3.1/work/torcs-1.3.1 ***** automake --add-missing --copy --foreign automake-1.11: no `Makefile.am' found for any configure output (In reply to comment #16) > This change likely broke also games-sports/torcs since it has: > > AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(torcs, 1.3.1) > > in configure.in > > but it has no Makefile.am files at all: > > * Running automake --add-missing --copy --foreign ... > [ !! ] > > ***** automake ***** > ***** PWD: /var/tmp/portage/games-sports/torcs-1.3.1/work/torcs-1.3.1 > ***** automake --add-missing --copy --foreign > > automake-1.11: no `Makefile.am' found for any configure output And if you remove the line from configure.in, the build breaks later with: splash.cpp:165:18: error: ‘VERSION’ was not declared in this scope So the workaround we used in fwbuilder is not valid here. Guessing also that the torcs successor, games-sports/speed-dreams might suffer from same issue. *** Bug 402651 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 406423 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 408473 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #16) i'd point out that even `autoreconf` itself fails in torcs. that says to me that torcs is broken. if it doesn't use automake, then it shouldn't be calling AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE. i'll follow up in the torcs bug. along those lines, the new summary is incorrect. automake *should* be run entirely based on AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE() usage. if a package uses that, but doesn't use automake, then it is doing something wrong. i've tweaked the code now to handle commented out AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE http://sources.gentoo.org/eclass/autotools.eclass?r1=1.128&r2=1.129 yes, I can see your point. fine by me. and, thanks. |
