Now there is official ES and RU asterisk-core-sounds available at http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/sounds/
so string:

LINGUAS="^en fr" # ^ is used to indicate to the loops below to NOT set this as an optional

must be rewritten to: LINGUAS="^en fr es ru"

My apologies, the commit message stated "fr" where it should have said "ru". I will correct this in the Changelog momentarily.
