The latest version of sysstat that is included with Gentoo is version 4.0.7 which does not include support for the 2.6 kernel. Please update the ebuild to use version 5.0 which can be found here: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/download_en.html

Simply copying sysstat-4.0.7.ebuild to sysstat-5.0.0.ebuild and running 'ebuild sysstat-5.0.0.ebuild digest' works for me, doesn't look like the ebuild really needs changes, just inclusion.
