I might've missed something, but there is no "/dev filesystem support" entry
under Filesystems in the menuconfig for 2.4.22-gentoo-r2.

Did you enable experimental options?

Thanks, I thought that when that option said "prompt" it meant "prompt user to
make sure he wants those features," so I left it off.
