To my knowledge the package can specify what python version to use to build (like specifically request python2.7 (and use it)). --> this should be a bug fixed within the package. I am actually referring to this: # Dependency on any version of Python 2, which is at least 2.7.* PYTHON_DEPEND="2:2.7" FROM: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/Python/developersguide.xml Because to me this should then also use python2.7 to compile, setup... no? (In reply to comment #0) > http://tormen.pastebin.com/k1yGKt1G Please attach that file to this bug report. Created attachment 268921 [details]
calibre emerge log
I did not attach the file, because the last time I tried this gentoo bugzilla complained that my emerge log was too big :( ... anyways here is the file.

You could always compress the file. Thanks, this is fixed in cvs. Merci! Works like charm :) P.S.: Maybe just as a side note for others that might have the same setup than me: If your main python is 2.6, but like in this case there are now some programs that move on to python 2.7: You need to add USE_PYTHON="2.6 2.7 3.2" to /etc/make.conf: By default things get only installed for the MAIN version (2 or 3) of python, so 2.6 and 3.2 in my case (see eselect python list). But calibre depends on PyQt4 and this needs to be also compiled/installed for python 2.7 --> add the USE_PYTHON directive to /etc/make.conf and run the python-updater and try emerge calibre again :) |
