I'm unable to recreate this with the latest packages in the tree (using xf86-input-wacom-0.10.8), and it appears as though you're using the x11 overlay. Could you please include the version of x11-base/xorg-server you're using? Can you please check xf86-input-wacom-0.10.11 (which was recently added to the tree) to see if it fails in the same way?
