Please append the missing package settings block from emerge --info bind. E.g. ================================================================= Package Settings ================================================================= net-dns/bind-9.8.0_rc1 was built with the following: USE="berkdb idn ipv6 (multilib) ssl threads urandom xml -dlz -doc -geoip -gssapi -ldap -mysql -odbc -postgres -resolvconf -sdb-ldap (-selinux)" Also please try to rebuild bind, I noticed that it links against the system libdns for at least named-checkconf, it might help. Unfortunately, I have had to revert back to bind-9.7.3-r1, so emerge --info would give details for the wrong version. However:- newton ~ # emerge -pv bind These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! [ebuild U ] net-dns/bind-9.8.0_rc1 [9.7.3-r1] USE="berkdb doc geoip idn ipv6 ldap mysql odbc postgres resolvconf ssl threads xml -dlz -gssapi -sdb-ldap (-selinux) -urandom" 0 kB Total: 1 package (1 upgrade), Size of downloads: 0 kB I did build bind twice (and had to do the same when reverting to 9.7.3), otherwise it would not even get past the init script. Ok, *this* bug has been fixed in CVS, wait a few hours and resync/remerge bind. # fails to start in some cases, bug 356519 =net-dns/bind-9.8* So, this still applies to 9.8.0 final? (In reply to comment #4) > # fails to start in some cases, bug 356519 > =net-dns/bind-9.8* > > So, this still applies to 9.8.0 final? > No, it's fixed. I'll keep the mask for now until we've fixed the linking issues. |
