I have the same issue here. I can attach my emerge --info if needed
I used almost the same USE as Stelian, only arch differs, I tried on amd64
Does this bug relate to the following commits after the 1.6.0 release in the upstream repository? http://code.google.com/p/uim/source/detail?r=6742 http://code.google.com/p/uim/source/detail?r=6743 I can't verify the relation because I can't reproduce this bug in my box. I have the same issue here. It didn't help for me. By the way, I can work around this issue by doing "mkdir /root/.uim.d" before emerge. Created attachment 255093 [details, diff]
proposed patch
After removing /root/.uim.d, I became able to reproduce this bug.
The attached patch consists of r6741 and r6746 in the uim repository.
