Hi,

RooFit is a data modelling tool for ROOT (see bug #34412).  It can do different types of fits, binned or unbinned, continuous or discrete.  It is used a lot in high energy physics experiments.

I would suggest app-sci or dev-libs (RooFit is not an app, but a library, so maybe the last one is more appropriate).

RooFit depends on >=root-3.02.07.

The configuration of the build happens through editing of the Makefiles.  That's why there are two patch-files.

closing this really old bug. roofit is now part of root-5 which is in the main
tree.
