# Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn <chithanh@gentoo.org> (12 Jul 2010)
# mask because libva is not keyworded, bug #319261
www-plugins/gnash vaapi

PPC team wasn't told this. Normal procedure is to drop keywords and notify arch teams.

Normal procedure does not include using arch profile's (package.)use.mask to mask USE flags, and certainly not to keep quiet about it.

From josejx's posting at
http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-dev/msg_5e4c4fad4c7d2acf06317dc792cd2e30.xml
I was under the impression that ppc prefers to have the USE flag masked instead of keyword dropped. I did not file a bug because the mask would have gone away as soon as ppc made a decision on bug 319261. If that was not correct then I apologize and will follow proper procedure in the future.

You are of course right, sorry. But the package.use.mask entry was submarine.

Thanks!

We'll keep the mask since vaapi is unlikely to support hardware available to PowerPC users at this time.
