this was fixed by our patches on gcc 4.4; some hunks were merged, some were not, this one was not and shared libs lose their linkage to libpthread and libc, patch will follow

Upstream merged something for 4.5.3 so I'm dropping the patch.  Let me know if it doesn't work.
