This struck me, too. I can confirm that app-misc/anki-0.9.9.8.6 (latest unstable, all anki versions are marked ~amd64) works with both dev-python/beautifulsoup-3.0.8 (latest stable) and dev-python/beautifulsoup-3.1.0.1-r1 (latest unstable). Strange thing about beautifulsoup though, that beautifulsoup-3.1.0.1-r1 depends on beautifulsoup-3.0.8. But I hope that doesn't touch this matter I looked at the source, and beatifulsoup gets imported unconditionally. I'd recommend adding >=dev-python/beautifulsoup-3.0.8 to RDEPEND. Additional Info: I am completely on ~amd64. void@Euklid> paludis -q anki ~ * app-misc/anki gentoo: 0.9.9.8.1(~) 0.9.9.8.2(~) 0.9.9.8.4(~) 0.9.9.8.5(~) 0.9.9.8.6(~) {:0} installed: 0.9.9.8.6* {:0} Description: <snip/> Homepage: http://ichi2.net/anki/ License: GPL-3 Installed time: Sun Feb 21 11:28:38 CET 2010 Use flags: (-furigana) (graph) (latex) (-recording) (sound) Build Options: -trace From repositories: gentoo Installed using: paludis-0.44.1 (Error happens with all Useflags disabled, too) + 23 Feb 2010; Patrick Lauer <patrick@gentoo.org> anki-0.9.9.8.6.ebuild: + Adding beutifulsoup dependency for #306063 Oopsie, I seem to have missed that one.
