When emerging  python-distutils-extra I get the following error:

 * Building of dev-python/python-distutils-extra-2.12 with Python 2.6...
python2.6 setup.py build -b build-2.6
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "setup.py", line 3, in <module>
    from setuptools import setup
ImportError: No module named setuptools

So dev-python/setuptools should be a dependency of python-distutils-extra.
