Mattam is interested in ocaml and java related ebuilds. CC'ing those teams
respectively.
He needs a mentor!
Hi Matthieu.
Welcome!
So, I see you are interested in ocaml? As you probably know, in addition
to compiler we have a bunch of packages under dev-ml. These are low-maintaince
ebuilds, that mostly require occasional version bump. So, would you be willing
to take up on them ;)?
They are already "herded", belonging to ml herd, but that herd only lists
me as maintainer. Another maintainer knowledgable of caml languages is wellcome
:).
I would be able to train you on caml related stuff, although I am not much
into java - you would have to seek "assistance" of java team in that relation
(you would probably want to join them anyway).
George
I'm very interested in joining the dev-ml herd george, but am less interrested
in joining the java team as I tend to not use java software anymore.
If i have a mentor, i would better learn the Right Way(c) to make emacs-related
ebuilds and xml/sgml ones.
taking out java herd from cc, and adding our emacs people
so, did anyone pick up mattam to train?
I kind of did, at least in the caml side. The deal was that he takes up on
dev-ml and associated herd eventually. He has submitted bunch of ml related
ebuilds already, though which I am trying to get through.
Unfortunately I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment on "real job", trying
to get done with another paper. However I'll try to get him up to speed -
after all this whould ease my pie in the long run :).
George
Hi guys.
Sorry for a silent period - I was in a "paper writing" mode, but now back to business on a more regular basis.
So, what's the status here? I went through bunch of related ebuilds by Matthieu and I think he should start getting into caml/dev-ml stuff oficially.
Matthieu: did you submit the quiz yet? IIRC the url is off the avenj's page somewhere.
seemant/avenj: if he did submit it, what's his status?
George
I got it a while back, but didn't review it until tonight because it was
directed at Seemant -- it looks fine.
(mattam, mail me a SSH DSA public key, please)
I'm actually not adding new devs until I get some information on the copyright
assignment forms. Seemant, do you know the status of that or should we meet
with Daniel soon?
george, mkennedy, strider, mattam is ready to go -- someone please walk him
through cvs checkout and do the -core intro
matthieu, if someone else hasn't already offered, i can step you trhough that
stuff. just grab me on freenode #gentoo-dev
Changing bug titles to comply with new developer bug title conformance
standards, sorry for the spam.
Announced his retirement on -core:
Hi,
It's been a while since I worked on any package in gentoo due to lack
of time
and interest. Actively working on my PhD, I'm mainly purging mail in my
gentoo mailboxes since one year now. So it occured to me it would be a good
time to retire, knowing that jakub and aballier take care of dev-ml pretty
well now.
All in all, it's been a nice ride and I will certainly continue to
happily
use gentoo and submit a patch from time to time. Goodbye folks !

Infra and forums folks, this one can be retired. i've already reset his
irc access to voice rather then op.
infra, please retire mattam.
infra has completed: dev, cvs, lists, ldap, jabber, bugzilla.
Removed from metadata.xml.
Forgot to remove infra from the CC list now that the infra part is done.
Already retired on the forums.
