After recent kernel upgrade I reinstalled nvidia driver and found this message while this procedure:
/usr/portage/x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers/nvidia-drivers-185.18.36.ebuild: line 185: compat_device_check: command not found

Probably there's some dependency not met or the ebuild contains erroneous call.
