Description Drew 2009-06-18 20:21:46 UTC
Hi there, I am trying to set the root password of the 'live environment' in install-x86-minimal-20090616.iso.

According to the readme.txt on the CD-ROM you can use the passwd directive to set the root password (in fact it is required), however the 'passwd' directive appears to be ignored when passed by isolinux or pxelinux.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert the CD
2. Boot
3. at the command prompt type dosshd passwd=password
4. try to ssh using as user root using the password 'password'
Actual Results:
The password for root remains blank

Expected Results:
the password for root should be password

When you boot with 'passwd=foo dosshd', do you see the following?

WARNING: You are starting sshd with a scrambled root password!!!
WARNING: You need to set a root password to be able to login remotely.

Nevermind, I know the issue. This was fixed a while ago, but there hasn't been a new release of livecd-tools.
