I can't emerge any packets that depend of ExtUtils-MakeMaker.
For example:

emerge mod_php
Calculating dependencies ...done!

!!! Error: the <dev-perl/ExtUtils-MakeMaker-6.05-r6 package conflicts with this 
package and both can't be installed on the same system together.

why dont you unmerge the blockers and try again
