dev-python/dbus-python-0.83.0 creates bindings for dbus_server_get_id function which was introduced in sys-apps/dbus-1.1.1 (see http://dbus.freedesktop.org/doc/NEWS ). I was using dbus 1.0.2 and every time a python application imported dbus module it ended up with an exception. Updating dbus to 1.2.3 fixed the problem.
