Still seems true for fltk-2.0_pre6671. Workaround appears to be eselect opengl list (note where the asterisk is, mine is on 'nvidia') eselect opengl set <whichever one says 'xorg-x11'> emerge x11-libs/fltk eselect opengl set <back to what it was before> Some packages, perhaps x11-base/xorg-server and/or media-libs/mesa, appear to alter and restore 'opengl' setting automatically. Patch to include --x-libraries.
Swithing to xorg-x11 is not optimal. The attached patch will pass the -L flag instead, like done in media-libs/gle.
Please try.
