changing severity for easier searching. Do you have a link to a gentoo doc that would explain the problem with this ? It is easier to argue with upstream if there is such doc available. Fixes the issue mentioned in #c1.
The entry about as-needed and no-undefined into diego's blog is very interesting and very clear. Well patch seems to be mostly correct. Is this still an issue with dev-libs/libxml2-2.7.7 ? libxml2-2.7.8-undefined.patch
As talked with Gilles and Samuli on #gentoo-desktop, it builds fine with forced as-needed and gold linker, then, we will leave upstream to decide to fix this. |
