I don't know much about epiphany, but you may want to try a couple potential fixes for flash-10: - Re-emerge curl-7.18.2, or upgrade to curl-7.19.0, if you currently have curl installed with USE="nss" If it still crashes, also try: - Edit /etc/adobe/mms.cfg and set "WindowlessDisable" (last line) to '1' What version(s) of firefox and epiphany have you tried? you can't exactly blame epiphany if firefox crashes too, this means it's a netscape-flash bug. Thanks a lot for your hints (In reply to comment #3) > (In reply to comment #2) > > you can't exactly blame epiphany if firefox crashes too, this means it's a > > netscape-flash bug. > > You're obviously right, however firefox does not need any further setup whie > epiphany needs the WindolessDisable=1 to work. > Thanks a lot for your hints Actually, if setting WindowlessDisable=1 in /etc/adobe/mms.cfg fixes the crash in epiphany, I would say it's an epiphany bug - It must be suffering from the same issue that affected <Firefox-3.0.2 (detailed in bug #230413 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435764) And since epiphany and firefox both use the same rendering engine, is this too far-fetched? I suppose you have already re-emerged epiphany after updating to recent xulrunner/firefox :-) (this was fixed in xulrunner-1.9.0.2, but I don't remember if was also fixed in 1.8, the one used by current stable epiphany) I'm closing this bug since the original problem is resolved. The latest stable epiphany I see now depends on xulrunner-1.9 so this should hopefully be resolved for everyone now :) |
