New beta release of Audacity. Includes a number of significant new features
(and new dependencies) from this summer's GSoC. New ebuild supplied supports
the necessary extra use flags and dependencies.
Reproducible: Always

New ebuild for audacity 1.3.6 with updated dependencies and use flags
New ebuild. econf options and dependencies have been re-ordered in the same
order as the output of configure --help to make checking them easier. Several
mis-uses of use_with vs. use_enable which caused some use flags not to work
have been corrected.
Additional notes (sorry):
* I've removed the bits of the 1.3.5 ebuild in portage that required portage
2.2, because I don't have it installed and don't want to upgrade yet. This only
affects the libflac dependency and the variable at the top of the ebuild
* Sending patches to upstream would be appreciated - I'm one of the Audacity
developers and I've never seen the patches on this ebuild until I came to do
the version bump.
Thanks for your work on this ebuild. Assigning to audacity ebuild maintainers,
who will no doubt be happy to talk to you about mainstreaming the patches!

but this is needed because audacity needs flac++; and anyway using
src_configure in a eapi<2 ebuild is wrong; i've reverted that locally.

Bah if you don't answer to your bugzilla's bugs
(http://limpet.net/audacity/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=283), no wonder people do
not send further patches :( if you prefer to be contacted directly or by any
other way, please lemme know.
By the way, the novorbis patch is still needed for use=flac -vorbis installs,
see bug #233472 (which according to the reporter has been sent to
audacity-devel ml).
Bumped now, thanks for the ebuild.
By the way, i've tried to enable slv2 but it gives me a segfault at startup :(
I suppose that since you haven't put it in the ebuild, it's not stable enough
to be enabled yet.
@hppa/ppc i've dropped your keywords due to unmet deps, please rekeyword it
Sorry about the audacity bugzilla issue. Unfortunately that install was on a
project member's server which we have no access to, so we can't kill it off
although it is no longer used (and the mailings for bug activity seem to have
died as well, probably at sourceforge).
Patched emailed to either me or (better) feedback_at_audacityteam.org will have
a much better chance of inclusion.
Re bug #233472: I saw that patch, and someone claimed to have dealt with it. In
fact they hadn't, but I have now done so. It can actually be reduced to the
one-liner attached - because the include isn't needed at all.
SLV2 support is indeed unstable, and is disabled in the audacity release builds
for Mac / Windows (partly because libslv2 doesn't build on windows ...). It's
GSoC code from a student who disappeared before it was working, not yet clear
what it's fate will be.
Thanks for updating the ebuild in portage.
Marked ~ppc, closing since we're the last arch.
